Silverfish Extermination Ontario
What is a Silverfish?
Silverfish (order Zygentoma) are one of the most primitive insects on the planet. This insect gets its name from its silvery, metallic appearance and fish-like shape and movements. These insects are wingless, however they run very fast. These crawling pests prefer humid, moist conditions, but can be found anywhere in a home. They are a voracious feeder on materials high in starches, glue, and cellulose such as paper. Unwanted crawling insects can also be found outdoors under rocks, in leaf litter, etc.

How to get rid of silverfish
The most effective way to prevent an unwanted pest infestation is to inspect thoroughly inside and outside your home where food is present. Silverfish can climb walls and find entry or exit points easily to get in and out of your home.
Moreover, to get rid of crawling pests, repair leaky pipes, drains, mouldy or wet wood. Also seal any cracks or gaps. Consider a dehumidifier for your home to reduce humidity. Remember “If it’s dry, they will die!” Keep food in tightly sealed containers to keep silverfish out.
